UTAS Library has now moved to using recycled paper

May 21, 2009

You suggested it in the Library survey… and we’re doing it! As part of our effort to become more environmentally sustainable, the paper which is to be used in all photocopiers and printers comprises 50% recycled pulp (from a mixture of office, home and industrial sources) and 50% virgin fibre from sustainably managed plantations, forest operations and sawmill wastes.

This will not add to the cost of printing and photocopying.

Express check out in campus libraries

November 18, 2008

ucheck

The Morris Miller and the Launceston Campus Libraries have new UCheck
terminals where you can check out items without waiting for assistance from
Library staff.  The UCheck terminals are just like the ones in the State
Library — so they will be familiar to some people.  Sun Nan (pictured) was
the first person to use the UCheck terminal in the Morris Miller Library.
Next time you want to borrow items from the Launceston Campus Library or the Morris Miller Library, try UCheck – you will be surprised at how easy it is to use.
